1927 B&D Silver Bell No. 3A Custom Banjo Uke

This is obviously a special order. In addition to the unusual knee mute (I can't imagine that it would work well on an instrument this small), it is different in other respects than the standard 3A Silver Bell. The metal parts are gold plated instead of nickel, and it has more expensive tuners. Also, it has an Ottenger tailpiece. And, it has a metal plaque on the back of the resonator which, interestingly, labels it erroneously a style No. 3 rather than a 3A (a style 3 wouldn't have had a resonator to put a plaque on).
