The three instruments pictured below are typical of the many banjo ukes produced by Slingerland. This one has the name "May Bell" impressed into the wood on the peghead. It was manufactured for the Oliver Ditson Company, and that company's nameplate is on the dowel stick. On this banjo uke, which has a six inch head, the "May Bell" was impressed into the peghead upside down. The name "Slingerland" is engraved on the tailpiece. On this one the "May Bell" name on the peghead is in a decal.
